Porcelain and celadon is a classic combination. The light blue tones come from red iron oxide reduced in an inefficiently burning gas environment. Blushes in red come from nearby pots that have copper in their glaze, aerosolized and swept through the kiln by flames and gas pressure. The celadon glaze is lightly bubbled and translucent. The surface texture is smooth and glasslike. Small beauty marks like iron spotting are readily apparent. When thrown and trimmed thinly enough, the porcelain will show light through the body and glaze.

Porcelain, reduction fired to cone 10. Celadon glaze.
